What Causes Varicose Veins?

The real causes of Varicose Veins are not exactly known. However, it has been observed , that non-existence or weakness of valves in the veins can lead to poor venous circulation that ultimately ends up causing this disorder. Valves that are present inside the veins usually make sure that the blood doesn’t flow in the wrong way i.e. away from the big sized veins and the heart.

On the other hand, there are some cases in which weakness in the vein walls can lead to pooling of patient’s blood. The walls of the blood vessels can lose their competency. This situation is worse as it raises the volume of blood in the veins , that will result in varicose veins.

Moreover, some diseases are also responsible forĀ  varicose veins. The names of these diseases are as follows:

How Are Varicose Veins Diagnosed?

To diagnose this disorder, the health care provider would most probably examine patient’s legs and visible veins in the sitting or standing position.
